# Don't lose track of backlinks

## Monitor your hard-earned backlinks, detect changes, and get alerts when something goes wrong.

## Why monitoring backlinks is important.

Backlinks are like trust signals for search engines, boosting your rankings - until they disappear or get
devaled without warning. A link you worked hard to earn might be removed, redirected, or slapped with a
rel="nofollow" tag, stripping away its SEO value. If you’re not tracking them, you could be losing
ranking power without even knowing it.

That’s why backlink monitoring is essential. SiteGuru automatically checks your backlinks weekly,
alerting you if something changes so you can take action before it affects your SEO.
